Memorial Weekend

We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! In fact we had so much fun, that I did not take ANY pictures, boo! Friday night the Kilpatrick's invited us to go to dinner at the Gristmill in Gruene. We had a fun time visiting, despite having to be moved mid-appetizer because of the rain (we were eating on the deck). Katie did get a picture and I am stealing it from her blog :)

On Saturday, Grammy came into town to run a few errands and visit with Auntie Lo and Uncle Trevor who were also coming to visit. Ainslee was excited to see everyone, it is so neat to see how she really remembers and recognizes people. Lauren & Trevor spent Saturday and Sunday night with us, but were at the lake all day on Sunday. Micah and Michelle (one of my good friends since 6th grade!) were in town visiting Micah's family but met up with us for lunch on Sunday. We enjoyed our little visit with them and wished they lived closer! After Ainslee's nap on Sunday it started raining so I decided we needed to go outside and play, of course! I did manage to get pictures of this.

As soon as Jason got home, we cleaned her up and headed back over to the Kilpatricks for burgers and fun! Katie's whole family was in town and Ainslee had a BLAST playing with her nieces and nephew. She stayed up until 10:00 just squealing and laughing with them! We will have to let them play together again sometime for sure. Again, this picture is stolen from Katie's blog.

On Monday, we hit all the sales at the Outlet Mall in San Marcos with Trevor & Lauren! We didn't get much but found some great deals :) And since I don't have a picture of that, I will leave you with a picture of Ainslee and her first pigtails, she left them in for about 5 minutes, but they were super cute while they lasted!

Enjoying the Arts

Last week I let Ainslee experiment with her watercolor paint set she got from the Easter Bunny (I am searching for new ways to keep her entertained at home). She had a blast! I think she enjoyed playing with the water and paint more than the actual painting, but at this age who cares?!

On Sunday we drove to Fredericksburg for Trade Days. Pop had his first booth this month with his wooden crosses and copper fish! Ainslee was excited to see BOTH sets of grandparents and her great-grandparents there too! She had fun playing with the displays and showing off for her family. We enjoyed shopping in the wonderful cool weather! We stopped in Boerne for an early dinner at the Hungry Horse and then walked around the park downtown. Mommy even got a bubble gum snow cone (my favorite)! It might have been one of the best days ever!

When we got home she grabbed this wooden stick and started waving it around. How did she know about magic wands??? I have a feeling she will be performing many "dance recitals" for us in the future...

Fun with Food

Ainslee has recently discovered the fun of dipping her food in sauces-quite shocking considering her refusal to mix foods together (or even have two kinds of foods on her tray)! Aunt Lauren got her to eat chicken by dipping it in queso, real healthy I know. This was the first successful attempt at hummus. And yes, she double dips.

Mother's Day '09

We had a wonderful Mother's Day in Guadalupe River State Park with most of our family! We had a delicious picnic lunch with my grandparents, parents, Jason's parents, my sister and bro-in law, aunt, uncle, and cousin! It was pretty hot and humid, but it made for perfect river weather. The water actually felt really good! It was Ainslee's first time in the river and she loved it! She walked right in without even hesitating. She is obsessed with rocks these days and lucky for her that is what is at the bottom of the river. She had a blast splashing around and picking up rocks. We all had a wonderful time. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful mother and mother-in-law and a beautiful daughter who made me a mommy!

2 Week Hiatus

Wow, where does the time go?! Oh yea, to feeding, changing, and playing with babies! First off, Ainslee is now 17 months old-almost a year and a half! She is busy testing her limits and boundaries and having fun all along the way. She has just recently become much more daring in the eating department and has added chicken to her list of acceptables, oh so daring, I know! She is obsessed with Elmo and dancing, and dancing with Elmo. She loves to run and go places, it doesn't matter where, as long as she gets to get out of the house. She has started inventing her own signs for things like bird, bow, hat, Elmo, and Grammy (Elmo and Grammy are the same sign for some reason). She now signs more, please, thank you, I love you, "bird", baby, kitty, horse, and eat. She can make most of the animal sounds, but her latest and my favorite is the bear. She holds up her hand like a paw and says roar, but it sounds more like "raw," so funny!

Mommy and Daddy went to Ft. Worth this past weekend for Daddy's Crossfit Competition. It was his first competition and he was extremely looking forward to it! Most of the people there were insanely in-shape, some were even gym owners or trainers, but Daddy managed to do quite well! He is already talking about the next competition... We made a fun weekend out of it by staying in a nice hotel, shopping and visiting with old friends who live in the area. We had a wonderful dinner with Michelle and Micah on Saturday and can't wait to meet Baby Terry in September! We got to spend Sunday afternoon with the McFarlands and finally meet baby Reid, who is adorable! Despite the massive hail storms and rainy weather we had a great weekend!
