A New Friend

Baby Cameron is finally here! She was born very early yesterday morning and Mommy Katie and Daddy Bo are so excited to finally hold her. She is a BEAUTIFUL little girl and I think she looks a lot like her mommy! We all headed to the hospital yesterday evening after picking Daddy up from work so we could go meet her. I didn't think children were allowed in the rooms, but the nurse said it was okay to bring Ainslee in to meet Cameron as well. We ate some birthday cake and then left to let the new mommy get some rest. Our next stop was a baby costume party (which would explain why Ainslee was dressed like a cat in the hospital). We had a lot of fun even though the babies all seemed oblivious of their attire.

Ainslee seemed quite interested in meeting Cameron

Happy Birthday to you Baby Cameron! (she slept through her party)

We got there too late to partake in a complete "group shot"

Pumpkin Patch

Last Tuesday Grandma & Grandpa came for a visit. We had lunch and then headed to the pumpkin patch! We had a lot of fun and Ainslee seemed to be in awe of all the pumpkins. She would crawl around from pumpkin to pumpkin and try to pull of the stems. :) After the pumpkin patch we went to Babies 'R US where Ainslee got her first BIRTHDAY present, a big girl car seat from Grandma & Grandpa! We are already using it and she seems to enjoy it, we can't wait until she can face forward though! After shopping we got ice cream and then went to Daddy's football game to watch the Panthers beat the Seahawks! We all had a great day!

Look Who's Standing!

Wednesday night I was putting Ainslee's pajamas on and noticed that she wasn't really holding on to me, so I let go. She stood on her own for about 30 seconds, until she realized I wasn't holding her up. She has done it several more times, but only if she is distracted by something. Once she realizes we aren't holding her she slowly squats down to the floor (doesn't fall down). I think she will be walking before we know it!

Here she is practicing her walking

Girl's Trip

Ainslee, Grammy, and I took a girl's trip to College Station this past weekend for a baby shower for my life-long friend Lynsey (Lynsey's due date is the day before Ainslee's due date last year!). Daddy took us to Bulverde on Saturday morning to meet up with Grammy. We had to make our first stop at the outlet mall in San Marcos. This turned out to be a rather long stop, but we found some great deals. Luckily we wore Ainslee out, and she slept all the way to Caldwell! She was happy when she woke up and just talked to us the rest of the way. Ainslee and I went to dinner with Katy at McAlister's where Ainslee enjoyed her first kid's meal - she just ate the fruit cup :( We spent the night at Katy's apartment and Ainslee had a blast playing with all the toys Katy has. We woke up early on Sunday and made to church (where Mommy & Daddy went in college). Sunday afternoon was the baby shower, and we had a lot of fun visiting with friends. We can't wait for baby Kyleigh to arrive!

(I was a horrible picture taker, I only got 4 pictures the entire weekend!)

Playtime

We have been enjoying the wonderful fall-like weather at the park a lot lately! Ainslee loves to watch all the big kids play while she swings. Jason and I discovered that she is actually big enough now to enjoy the playground, as well (with lots of supervision). She can crawl UP the slide (a skill that Daddy is quite proud of and wants to submit video of). She can also crawl through the tunnel and pull up on all the bars.

What we've been up to...

We went to a baby playgroup last Thursday and had a lot of fun! There was only one other little girl, but Ainslee is tough enough to keep up with all the boys (there were about 10 of them)! She actually got her first kiss from one of the little boys. He was quite smitten with her and gave her lots of kisses on the cheek while we were there! It was pretty funny to watch, because Ainslee just sat there completely expressionless wondering what the heck he was doing to her :)

This was the best I could do at getting a partial group shot, Ainlsee is the one w/ the pink bow

Grammy and Pop came to stay Friday night with us, so that Mommy & Daddy could enjoy a date night at a Spurs game! It was the first pre-season home game and we got to sit on the 8th row!!! Of course, this was the only game we have gone to that I did NOT bring my camera :( I wouldn't have even needed to zoom in to see Tim Duncan's face! We had a a lot of fun and Ainslee behaved herself quite well while we were gone.

Yesterday we picked out our pumpkin! It literally weighs as much as Ainslee.

And this is too funny not to include. Someone woke up on the wrong side of the crib, and is having a bad hair day! :)

Blah, Blah, Blah...

This seems to be Ainslee's new favorite phrase. She will now add other "words" before the blah, blah, blah. For example: "Dadablahblahblah or Mamablahblahblah." I'm not sure if she is really speaking to Dada or Mama when she says them, but I like to think so :)

Her other new love is her stuffed animals. She has a few small ones that stay in her crib with her, and she likes to play with them while she falls asleep and when she wakes up. But, she has 2 large bears and a cow that she got when she was teeny tiny. They have been up high on a shelf in her room. The other day I went to get her up from her nap and she was pointing at them. We took them down, and she has been loving on them ever since!

Can you see the joy on her face?!

10 Months Old!

We have reached double digits and time is flying by...I can't believe I have already started thinking about her 1st birthday party! Ainslee is now constantly on the go-her Auntie Lo said she had never seen a baby that was that busy! She seems to always be on a mission. Going in one direction, examining something, then quickly off to some place new. Poor Charley Cat spends his days hiding in the closet, as he is no longer safe from Ainslee. She is now much more stable when she is holding onto something and will usually only use one hand. She "cruises" around the kitchen table and along the couches. Her crawling still gets her where she needs to very quickly. No first word yet, but she is now babbling in complete sentences...just wish we knew what she meant. She also likes to sing or hum along with one of her musical toys. Daddy thinks it will be neat if she really can sing one day. She is slowly working her way off of baby food. Mommy has been trying to get creative with the table food. So far avocado, banana, chicken, beans, cheese and cheerios are still her favorite. She is as feisty as ever and knows what she wants, this has been evident from day one. She loves to play with other babies now and watch "big" kids anywhere we go. My favorite is when she yells (quite loudly) at other babies we pass in carts at stores. I think we have a little socialite on our hands. Enjoy the "monthly" chair pic, it was ridiculously impossible to get her to hold still for 2 seconds.
