Boat trip!

Last Sunday, we went out to Canyon Lake with Grandma and Grandpa. They have a fabulous boat that Ainslee had never been on before! Her life jacket was a little big last summer, but worked perfectly this summer! We all had a really fun time, especially Ainslee. I wondered how she would do on the boat, but she LOVED it! We think she "has a need for speed." The faster we would go and the bumpier it was, she would laugh and laugh and sign more :) Grandma was in the back yelling, "slow down," but Ainslee was signing more! Haha!

All packed and ready to head to the lake!

Not too sure about what was about to happen when we first got on

The crew

She wanted to help Grandpa steer!

Grinning and signing more, while going fast :)

Jumping in w/ Grandpa

The water felt WONDERFUL!

Enjoying the view

Trying to drive by herself now!

July Ketchup

We have been out of town or just plain busy lately! So here it is, I'm "ketching" up:

Look for LOTS of new posts below!

Workin' at the Car Wash!

Ainslee has been our little "helper" lately. She loves to help put stuff away, make dinner, bring us our shoes, etc. Last week, she helped Daddy wash his truck!

She really just liked playing with the hose!

She has also been doing some work on the computer :)

And on a random note, I think I've mentioned her dislike for hairbows? Well, let's just say that the streak is over! She insisted that I put them all in her hair, and she did the same thing with Auntie Lo in Corpus!

Corpus Christi

The morning after we got back from Vegas, we re-packed and headed to Corpus Christi. Aunt Lauren and Uncle Trevor were moving into their first house and had a lot of work to get done before their new furniture was delivered. We unpacked boxes, organized the kitchen, painted all three of their bedrooms, and took out all of the carpeting that was covering the beautiful wood floors. Of course, all of this was done in increments while Ainslee napped :) We worked hard but had a fun time too! We can't wait to go back soon to take Ainslee to the beach!

Ainslee was good at unpacking

She tried to help put the kitchen table together

Got horsey rides from Auntie Lo

Of course this was all too exhausting, so she insisted on eating in bed :)

Viva Las Vegas!

On July 10th, Mommy and Daddy celebrated 5 wonderful years of marriage! We decided to mark the big occasion by a rather spontaneous trip to Las Vegas! We had a great, relaxing time while Ainslee spent the week with Grammy and Pop in Kerrville, having her own fabulous vacation :)
We stayed here:

Jason at the entrance

The view from our AMAZING room

We did a lot of this by the pools

We did very little of this, about $10 worth :)

We went to Broadway's The Lion King one night, which was wonderful! We ate a few fabulous restaurants. And did some sight seeing at night, when it wasn't 106 degrees!
We saw the Eiffel tower :)

Caesar's Palace-massive!

We saw the fountains at the Bellagio-beautiful!

Yummy!

In front of the Venetian. We walked there. And back. From Mandalay Bay. Bad mistake! About 2-3 miles one way, but we got to see the entire strip!

4th of July

We had our annual 3rd of July party at the Kilpatrick's house with lots of friends! Ainslee has adopted Cameron's cousins as her own (since she doesn't have any yet, hint hint Auntie Lo!) and they came down from Abeliene to play! Ainslee had a blast running around with lots of kiddos and thouroughly enjoyed the bouncy house Katie and Bo rented this year! We had a very laid back actual 4th. Jason's good friend, Sterling, came down and spent the weekend with us.

Mommy and Ainslee ready for the party

playing with water balloons

Loving the bounce house!

Ainslee and Emerson, totally unposed! :)

Ryan is so sweet with Ainslee, she loved cuddling :)

Enjoying her first corn on the cob on the 4th!

Inside fun

It has been way too hot to go outside lately, like in the 100's! My car has consistently read 105, which is just absurd! So, that means we have been trying to find things to occupy our time indoors. We went to North Star Mall, the Semme's library for toddler storytime, and our usual HEB outing (which is Ainslee's all time favorite-balloons, lobsters, stickers, and Buddy Bucks are a few of her favorite things in life). The rest of the time we had to find fun things to do at home, here are a few pics of what we came up with:
We played beauty shop and got pigtails! Now if you know Ainslee, you know she doesn't stand for things in her hair, like bows and rubber bands. But, I asked her if she wanted pigtails like the little girls we saw at storytime and boy did that work! I know, probably not the best approach, especially later in life-but it worked :)

She was also thoroughly amused with these milk jugs for some reason

Cameron got a little piggy tail too!
Daddy and Ainslee made a tent in her room! Her favorite part? Tearing it down!
Then we used the sheet to make a hammock, swung by Mommy & Daddy, she loved it!
