My first...

...PLAYGROUND!

Grandma & Grandpa came up Saturday morning before their big trip to Maine! They helped Daddy take apart a GINORMOUS play set that we were given for FREE. This thing is so large that it is going to have to wait for the Kerrville house backyard, because it wouldn't fit in ours. We're talking giant slide, 2 swings, tire swing, fort, teeter totter, rope ladder, the works! :)

...Pancake!

Daddy made pancakes on Sunday morning for everyone and even made a few "Ainslee size" pancakes just for her. She loved them!

...Haircut!

Ainslee is growing a lot of new hair, but some of her old hair hasn't fallen out. This was creating something resembling a mullet. It was long overdue, but I had been too scared to attempt it by myself. Grammy cut while the rest of us entertained and kept her still. The result is an adorable little bob, that actually makes her hair look a lot thicker.

Yesterday Ainslee crawled into her room & shut her door, seriously! When I opened the door I found her just playing away with her toys. Should we get her a "do not disturb" sign?

A little of this...

It's been awhile! We have been too busy enjoying this beautiful fall weather to blog! Actually it's a combination of that and then Mommy and Ainslee got sick. We are both trying to get over nasty colds, and taking care of a sick baby is quite exhausting when you are sick yourself. I think we are on the mend though. Monday morning we had a baby playgroup, which we had not done in quite a while. Ainslee had a blast and followed the older boys all over the place (watch out Daddy, she is quite the aggressor!). On Tuesday, we went to Jason's 7th grade football game. It was Ainslee's first jr. high football game, post womb, experience. She did great the whole 2 1/2 hours we were there, mostly because there was LOTS of people watching to do. Other than that, we have been enjoying the neighborhood park and going on lots of walks.

Tooth number 6 made its appearance this morning. I didn't know 9 month olds were even allowed to have that many teeth! In typical teething fashion (at least for Ainslee) along with the tooth came mild fussiness, shorter naps, spitting up, more than usual dirty diapers, and a lovely case of diaper rash...oh the joys of "mommyhood" :) Is this going to happen with every tooth?

We are also in the midst of swapping out the bottle for the sippy cup. We have a billion different kinds, but she will only drink out of one. And she will only drink a little bit, not the amount she would if it were in a bottle. Any and all advice on this issue is much appreciated!

On a more interesting note, I came across these on my Internet perusing this afternoon:

Yes, Katie K, they are infant high heels! Don't worry, they are soft soled. They only come in size 0-6 months, so I guess they are out of the question now (as is the $35 price tag). Too bad, I think we could have gotten some great pictures in those.

Weekend Fun

This past weekend we headed to Kerrville again for a wedding. Jason had a football scrimmage Saturday morning, so we weren't able to leave until after lunch. Luckily the wedding was in the evening so we had plenty of time. Ainslee stayed with Grammy & Pop because the reception went way past her bedtime. Mommy & Daddy had a wonderful time visiting with old friends! Sunday afternoon we all packed up and headed to Lonehollow (a gorgeous camp) to play and visit with Uncle Rob. After dinner we headed back to San Antonio. Apparently we wore Ainslee out, because she was sound asleep before we even got off of the camp road!

9 Months Old!

Yes, I know I'm a day late on this post. Ainslee had her 9 month well baby check up today, and I was waiting on her "stats" to make this post. She only had to get one immunization this time, but I opted to give her a flu shot as well, since she goes to the nursery at church and her daddy is a teacher- bringing home who knows what kind of germs! We'll go with the better safe than sorry motto. So, here are the stats:

Weight: 16lbs 14oz - 20th percentile

Length: 27 1/2" - 55th percentile

The doctor said she is slowing down on her growth, but is still progressing healthily (strange word). She took her shots like a pro and was smiling before we even stepped out of the room. We went to have lunch with Daddy afterwards, just to make it even better.

Here are a few of her 9 month old tricks and favs:

• crawls EVERYWHERE
• pulls up on EVERYTHING
• she has stood on her own twice now, but sits down as soon as she realizes I'm not holding on
• drinks from a sippy cup (thanks to the heat at Fiesta Texas)
• waves "bye bye"
• sleeps from 8 pm to 8 am and takes two long naps a day
• likes to look at books (and chew on them)
• LOVES Charley Cat (she likes to put his tail in her mouth, pretty gross)
• likes cheerios, puffs, chicken, cheese, black beans, yogurt, rice cereal, and most baby food
• she thoroughly enjoys getting her teeth brushed, she has FIVE of them already!
• still a people watcher- she loves to watch the jr. high kids at Daddy's school
• seems to have a blast in the church nursery & never fusses (knock-on-wood)
• likes to make a clicking sound with her tongue and will imitate someone doing it to her
• ticklish under her arms and neck

We love her to pieces and are enjoying watching her grow and change everyday!

Fiesta Texas!

Ainslee had her first theme park experience yesterday at Fiesta Texas! We met up with Auntie Lo and Johnna (who gave us free tickets, THANK YOU!) after lunch so that we could make sure Ainslee at least got somewhat of a morning nap before her big adventure. Apparently the nap worked well, because she seemed to have a blast while we were there. She loved riding the train that goes all around the park. It was so funny to watch her little face when it started moving. She looked a little concerned, but quickly began to enjoy the ride. Auntie Lo & Johnna watched her for awhile so that Mommy and Daddy could ride Superman, our fav roller coaster! Then we all stood in line to let Ainslee ride the carousel but she wasn't allowed on since she wasn't wearing shoes. Jason and I had to take our shoes off to ride Superman, but Ainslee couldn't ride the carousel because she didn't have shoes? She doesn't even walk! What in the world is that all about?! Oh well, the lady was nice enough to let us get a picture of her on it at least :) Auntie Lo and Johnna had to head back to Austin early, so we said our goodbyes and let Ainslee take a nap in a dark and wonderfully air conditioned theater. After awhile we headed to the water park and had fun splashing around the kiddie area. We were all getting hungry, so we left Fiesta Texas in our Aggie apparel for some FREE Chick-fil-A (it was football team day). We were pretty worn out by the time we got home, but we had a wonderful day!
