Jam Packed Weekend

Just now posting about last weekend, but it was great! Grammy came into town on Friday to help me figure out how to work my new sewing machine from Pop. It works soooo well (hopefully this means lots of new dresses for Ainslee)! We had a busy Saturday planned. We had received a flier in the mail about the new fire station down the street having an open house. I thought this would be something Ainslee would enjoy, since she has been a little obsessed with emergency vehicles lately. Apparently every young family thought the same thing, it was packed! Ainslee was extremely apprehensive at first, but I think she had a lot of fun.

We came home, took naps, and headed to Cameron's first birthday party! It was a costume party so Ainslee went as an Aggie cheerleader (cheerleaders/football are her other current obsession).

She LOVED her cupcake!

Bo set up some cute games for the kids to play

The birthday girl just enjoyed playing with the cones :)

After the party, we came home, changed clothes, and headed out AGAIN! Ainslee had a date!

Yea right, like her daddy would let her date! :) Actually, this adorable little boy's mom and I are both friends with Allison, who was in town with her hubby for the weekend! We all met up at Mamacita's and enjoyed a 3 hour long dinner together! It was so great to catch up and enjoy the company of good friends!

Japanese Tea Gardens

Grandma and Grandpa came to San Antonio this morning for a quick visit with their favorite grandchild! They packed a delicious picnic lunch and I packed a very full diaper bag, and we all headed to the Japanese Tea Gardens. The weather was absolutely beautiful and the girls LOVED being outside! Ainslee hiked the trail by herself and Grandma and Grandpa took turns carrying Cameron (way too many steps for the stroller), so that I could take lots of pictures. I think the coy ponds were by far their favorite (the fish were as big as they are)! It was so nice to get out of the house and enjoy this beautiful fall weather we are having.

They are cute!

How big is Cameron? She's saying "So big!"

A moment of stillness, it didn't last long

Hello?

Ainslee is mildly obsessed with phones. I think all children have some strange fascination with phones, but lately anything can be a phone for Ainslee. We have seen her use our phones (and actually manage to call people), toy phones, our old cell phones, a Wii sensor thingy, computer microphone, a usb stick drive, and a calculator (which she is totally convinced is a phone). Basically if it looks electronic, it's fair game. But now for the latest and greatest, yesterday morning she was eating cheerios and bit one in half. She proceeded to put the other half up to her ear and say "hello?" Then she giggled, knowing she was being silly. Totally reminded me of Zoolander and his ridiculously tiny cell phone!

Here she is, pantsless of course, about a month ago talking to Grammy and telling her all about the bobos on her fingers (from picking up glass at the playground!)

Sweet Berry Farm

Saturday morning we packed our picnic basket and headed to Sweet Berry Farm in Marble Falls. I had heard that they had a great pumpkin patch with lots of fun things to do. We were not disappointed! Ainslee had a blast running around and exploring the farm. I think this will be a new family tradition.

Talking to Daddy about her lunch

She LOVED feeding the goats grass that she picked

They had a few of these hay tunnels that Ainslee had fun running through

These pics are for her Pop:

These are for her Grandpa:

She had fun climbing the haystack and was quite good at it too!

Just chilling out at the top

The horse trailer filled with pumpkins was nice and cool inside, we hung out in there for awhile.

Oh so serious!

There's her cheesy grin!

We got to pick beautiful flowers. Only $1 to fill your cup, this was Mommy's favorite part of the day!

Do you see her?
She was a tad exhausted by this point

Photography 101

The lack of blogging lately can be summarized by this short video:

Let me explain, in case you don't get it yet. What you just saw pretty much happens every time I get out the camera and try to take a picture/video these days. It really stinks!

The other day though, Katie brought over a toy camera for Ainslee and Cameron to play with at our house. This thing has ALL the bells and whistles and Ainslee LOVES it. Well, today I was determined to take a few pictures of my beautiful little girl. I thought that by letting her use her "camera" to take pictures of her baby, I might be able to take pictures of my baby. I'll let you see how this transpired..

"Let's take your baby outside"

Quick picture while she's still distracted

"Ainslee, why don't you put your baby on the rock so we can take her picture"

Say "cheese!"

The baby's beautiful portrait

"Why don't you sit next to your baby on the rock"

"Oh what a sweet hug you are giving your baby"

And done! Got a few cute pictures of my baby with her baby!

The shirt she's wearing used to be her mommy's, made by her Grammy. And those adorable little shoes she's sporting...got those at a consignment store this weekend. Yep, they're Stride Rite and had NO signs of wear whatsoever and just happened to be a size 5 1/2- the perfect size! Oh yea, and they were 50% off (at the consignment store) which means ridiculously cheap! Here's a close up for you!
