Waiting for Daddy...

With football season in full gear, we have a LOT of time to kill in the evenings/early night before Daddy gets home. Our latest little tradition is to go check the mail and read it on the front porch step. Then we just run around and find doodle bugs, pick berries off the plants, and play with the hose or sprinkler. Well, Ainslee does those things and I just watch -or take pictures of her being cute!
Peek-a-boo!

Spying on our neighbors

This is her running face :)

She gets pretty dirty so we go inside, clean up, and make dinner together!

Playtime!

Ainslee and Cameron have been having a BLAST together lately. Cameron loves to follow Ainslee around and Ainslee loves having someone to entertain. I recently bought a doll stroller for Ainslee to play with, but she isn't so much into dolls. Why not? Just see...

Who needs dolls when you have a REAL baby to push around in your stroller and feed pretend bottles?

Silly baby!

Sometimes though, Ainslee likes to be the baby. Cameron is quite good at pushing her too! I really need to get that on video, it's hilarious :)

When they aren't taking turns in the stroller, they are taking ALL the toys out of the toy baskets (or book baskets or shelves). Here is a small example:

I think this is the reason for taking everything OUT of the baskets:

Sometimes they like to check out what's going on at the back door. I think Jason was mowing. Apparently, it was quite entertaining.

Ainslee is also into playing dress up. When given free reign of her closet, she ALWAYS chooses the rainboots and tutu. And they must be worn together! (at least they are both yellow)

A wonderful combination. Don't you think?

A Very Special Dress

Mommy and Grammy have started making pillow-case dresses out the wazoo! Last weekend, Grammy suprised Ainslee with a new dress she had made (without telling Mommy). This dress was made out of Ainslee's Great-Great-Great-Great Grandmother's pillowcase that she embroidered. It is a beautiful dress that I hope Ainslee will pass down to her own daughter one day (a long, long time from now!). I took Ainslee to get her portrait done in the dress, but here are some that I took last weekend.

Corpus Chrisit- Day 2

On Sunday, Grammy and Pop drove in for a quick visit to Corpus too! We all made a trip to the Texas State Aquarium and had a great time showing Ainslee all sorts of new creatures.
On her tippy toes to see what's inside!

Sisters and husbands- with Ainslee pointing out fish to Pop in the background :)

Looking at great big fish with Grammy

Family picture time

They had a tank with clown fish, aka-Nemo. Here she is "calling"out "NEMO!"

She found him!

In a play boat

Touching stingrays, she managed to get her foot in!

Watching the dolphin show on Daddy's shoulders

Then we got a great close-up view!

Corpus Christi- Day 1

Ainslee took her first trip to the beach last weekend. We stayed with Aunt Lauren & Uncle Trevor and had a super fun time! I think Ainslee still prefers the river, but she eventually warmed up to the beach- I think the whole "sand sticking to you" thing kind of threw her for a loop!
Her first sit on the beach, she would only sit on Lauren's lap at first :)

She spent most of the time holding her hands like this because she didn't like the sand being on them :)

She finally warmed up to the idea when she got to use a shovel...and cover Daddy with sand! :)

It was nap time, so she insisted on the sandy pacifier
She "told" Uncle Trevor which castles needed to be decorated, he obliged

She seemed to thoroughly enjoy the water-I think this looks very "Baywatch" of Jason ;)
Finally playing in the sand!

Bye bye beach, can't wait to see you next year!

Mommy gets Crafty!

I have been dying to make a "pillowcase dress" for Ainslee for quite some time now. I got a sewing machine for Christmas about 3 or 4 years ago and had never taken it out of the box. The idea of just putting the thread and bobbin on scared me! But Katie (Cameron's mommy) and I decided we would conquer our fear of sewing w/ the expert help of our own moms! We had a super fun mother/daughter afternoon picking out fabric, making/modifying a pattern, and sewing! Ainslee wore her new dress to church this morning and even got a few compliments :) I can't wait to make something else now! I have lots of project ideas up my sleeve, hopefully some will actually turn out :) Oh yea, and we may have to modify the ribbon ties- Jason found Ainslee in the nude after nap, with the dress on the floor :)
Modeling her new dress Mommy made!

Just being silly for the camera

The cutest little girl in the world! I love that smile!

Adventures in Aggieland

*Warning-lots of pictures!

This past weekend, Ainslee, Mommy, and Grammy headed to College Station for a fun girls weekend! Grammy stayed with the Maddens and Mommy & Ainslee stayed with "Aunt" Katy! This was the first time Ainslee and baby Kyleigh have been able to meet! As usual, we had so much fun in Aggieland and can't wait to go back during football season!

Here is the girls first meeting on Friday evening!

We stayed up super late and went to a baseball game on Friday night! Ainslee's first, and she loved it! We got to see a lot of people Mommy knew from church back in the 'ol college days. She loved "Kaboom"-from afar :)

Saturday morning we headed over to some friends of Katy's- who we have also known for a long time. They have 5 kiddos, so their house is always fun! Jennings (the youngest, and only boy) and Ainslee had a blast taking turns pushing each other in the dump truck.

Then Katy and I took them to Chick-fil-A for their first date :)

Lots of playtime!

After lunch, we met Grammy and baby Kyleigh and all her family at the Children's Museum in Bryan. Of course, Ainslee's favorite part was the HEB grocery store they have set up! I think she could have played in there ALL DAY!

This is what she put in her cart- that's my girl w/ ice cream on top! :)

Ainslee and Jennings checking out. Ainslee put the groceries on the counter and Jennings scanned them-it was quite the team effort!
Adorable baby Kyleigh had lots of fun in the toddler area!

They had a music room with lots of fun instruments- our little pianist!

Or maybe future surgeon? She worked on this for a long time!

Playing with the giant chess set, how fun!

After a really short nap, we took Jennings home and stayed to play with his sisters in the pool! Katy was able to teach Ainslee how to jump of the side and go under water! Mommy was impressed!

Aunt Katy and her babies :)

Sunday morning we went to the Madden's house and tried to take more pictures. The babies weren't really having it though. Here is the Mom/daughter shot. These two mommies have been friends since birth! It was so neat to see our own daughters play together!

Here are the Grammies (friends for almost 30 years!) with their grand-babies!

After the photo shoot, we headed to campus for our annual "Ring Picture."

Ainslee had fun running around the quad, but it was super hot!

Before we left town, we had to stop at Sonic for a nice cool drink! Ainslee had her favorite, just a cup of ice :) She was happy as a clam!
Thanks for your hospitality Aunt Katy!
